12 Days of Christmas Skin Rejuvenation Tips
Countdown to Christmas is here and it is time for some self care and skin care leading up to the day – here are our 12 Days of Christmas Skin Rejuvenation Tips:
Tip 12: Go for a short walk twice a day to lose the dark circles.
Lack of exercise causes lack of blood circulation, which results in dull lifeless skin as well as not allowing the lymph to circulate. This has a chain effect build-up of toxins under the skin, causing swollen bags under the eyes or general puffy and dull skin appearance. So…take a short walk twice a day or add a longer one into your exercise plan – it will de-stress your skin! To compliment your walk try our REVIVE dark circle eye serum, specifically formulated to increase circulation for dark circles and the reduction of fine lines around the eyes.
Tip 11: Apply MINC Natural Moisturising Zinc 20% 20 minutes before leaving the house or office to avoid UV damage.
Wearing sunscreen is an obvious tip, but when we go from one party to another during this festive season, forgetting to reapply your moisturiser sunscreen throughout the day can set off a chain reaction with your skin getting dehydrated and burnt, then causing skin sagginess or discolouration.
Tip 10: Take a breath to hydrate your skin with glorious oxygen.
The excitement – and deadlines – of the pre-Christmas rush can make you forget all about the reason for the season!
Stress that we carry around through the day can vanish with one simple technique for relaxation: breathing. Take a moment to inhale deeply a few times, allowing all that nourishing oxygen to enter your lungs. The moment that you take to refocus will actually help you be mentally sharper and more present afterwards.
Tip 9: Limit your alcohol consumption at Christmas parties – your skin will appear brighter.
- Try soda as a mixer substitute with vodka or gin – it has less calories than lemonade and other mixes
- With each alcoholic drink consumed, match it with a glass of water.
- Add an ice cube or sparkling water to your glass of wine to reduce headaches and hangovers
Tip 8: Take a 20 minute nano-nap – it will make your face relax.
Not getting enough sleep is a common concern at the best of times in your life but sleep is nature’s best beauty secret. If you are on the party treadmill, take a 20 minute nano-nap before you go out – results published in Sleep Magazine/PubMed show that a 20-minute nap produced immediate improvements in sleep latency, subjective sleepiness, fatigue, vigour, and cognitive performance, with some benefits lasting for as long as 155 minutes afterwards.
Tip 7: Try a Nano Sonic Facial ™ – say goodbye to a lacklustre visage.

Tip 6: Eat party nibbles that do not stress your skin – to keep your skin calm and smooth.
Eating foods that you know your body reacts to can result in increased skin redness. This can be caused by the expansion of capillaries as stress weakens the skin’s immune system. Avoid at all costs! Organise special dietary needs before attending parties OR bring your own supplies to avoid a sudden outbreak of eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, dermatitis or irritated skin conditions. Try to steer clear of sugar!
Tip 5: Wear the right makeup concealer to avoid and banish breakouts and blemishes.
Long hours of work and client Christmas parties can mean your skin is covered with makeup for long periods of time. If your skin is prone to acne or is sensitive, then it is even more important to wear makeup that lasts and cares for skin while it is on your skin.
Masqued uses uses light diffusing minerals to soften and camouflage blemishes, dark circles, tired skin, redness and capillaries.
Tip 4: Gently exfoliate to let your skin shine.
Make sure that you look after all areas of your body by exfoliating regularly, without scrubbing at your skin. Scrubbing and abrasion does not help the appearance of your skin at all, rather it removes the luscious top layer of your skin needed to protect deeper layers.
Dry gentle exfoliation also helps promote the smoothness of the skin’s appearance and stimulates circulation which helps in the treatment of cellulite – but remember, cellulite treatment is a multi-modal activity. Using our ENHANCE luxurious body enhancing lotion helps to hydrate, firm and give your skin a beautiful glow too!
Tip 3: Try supplements to avoid getting run-down and skin breakouts.
Do you know the person in your office who is always carrying a quick pick-me-up? Or are you that person? If so, you are onto something.
Try the fizzy tabs, daily vitamin supplements or natural foods high in antioxidants that give you the boost – do everything you can to avoid tiredness because you need your energy levels high at Christmas time to enjoy events and get-togethers.
Tip 2: Say no and stay unwrinkled.
If you do not have to be at events and parties, save your energy and rest – there is no harm in doing this at Christmas and it will recharge your batteries and more importantly, your skin. Remember, stress sabotages your skin appearance, elasticity and texture, so be kind to it whenever possible and give yourself a break.
However if you are going to have some fun, be sure to keep yourself well hydrated between alcoholic drinks and using a skincare range such as You by Sia, rich in hyaluronic acid and potent active ingredients will replenish your skin and hide the signs of the party!
Tip 1: Dance, have fun and be merry – the best way to rejuvenate your skin and yourself at Christmas.
Also great for the skin as it combines sun and activity: beach volleyball, golf, swimming, tennis. Have a very merry Christmas!
