It’s Time to Target the Signs of Ageing

Treatment by treatment, we’ve helped Sydney clients with noticeable age spots, freckles and melasma turn back the clock and step into brighter, more even-toned skin. It’s never too late to fix the discolouration caused by excess sun exposure. With an advanced program designed to combat excess pigmentation in its many forms, we’re ready to give you the confidence of clearer, more youthful-looking skin.

What causes pigmentation?

The main factor contributing to excess pigmentation production is UV exposure. As UV rays are absorbed by the skin, the body moves in to protection mode, releasing melanin to shield the cells from damage. Constant sun exposure can push melanin production in to overdrive, resulting in clustered, excess pigment, commonly known as freckles, sun spots or age spots. Hormone imbalance, pregnancy and skin trauma can also lead to excess pigment.

How is pigmentation removal achieved?

You by Sia has developed a program that combines leading laser technology with active cosmeceuticals to effectively target visible hyperpigmentation on the face and body, breaking down discolouration to make way for brighter, more even skin.

With precise pigment targeting technology, we are able to address areas of concern without causing any damage to the surrounding skin. Delivering controlled heat to the foundation of the lesion, pigmentation will lightly crust at the surface and gently peel in the days following treatment.

Unfortunately, not all pigmentation is well suited to laser removal. In particular, post-inflammatory pigmentation can be more effectively diminished with use of You by Sia’s cosmeceutical serum.

Is my skin suitable for pigmentation removal treatment?

With many different triggers affecting the way pigment is formed, carried and released, there are some skin types which are not suited to treatment.

Your suitability for laser will depend on your skin colour. Individuals with medium to olive skin tone, or darker, are typically unsuited to treatment. In this case, there are alternative treatments available. During your complimentary consultation a trained technician will be able to establish a program that is best suited to your skin type and concerns.

How many sessions will I require?

When targeting areas on the body, typically three to four treatments are recommended, spaced three weeks apart.

Is there anything I need to know before treatment?

We’ll provide you with all the information that you need in your pre-treatment consultation.

Some key points to remember:

  • Sun exposure and solarium use should be strictly avoided in the four weeks before treatment.
  • Prepare your skin with the recommended pre-treatment serums. These products have been formulated to begin weakening and breaking down pigment.
  • Please do not wax or apply fake tan to the target area in the two weeks before treatment.

Is there anything I need to know after treatment?

  • Continue using the recommended You By Sia products. These serums have been specially formulated to help prevent pigment from re-surfacing and to assist with wound repair.
  • As skin will be more sensitive to UV damage, skin should always be protected with SPF when you are outdoors and sun exposure should be avoided where possible.
